UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's ice hockey team drew to a 1-1 tie with RIT in the final regular season match of the season on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first period RIT would score first off a goal by Addie Alvarez to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead with 4:17 left in the frame.
- The Nittany Lions countered with a goal by Alyssa Machado with 2:19 remaining in the period to even the score at 1-1.
- Neither team would score in the third period or overtime frame resulting in the 1-1 draw.
GOALTENDERS
- Sophomore goalie Katie DeSa recorded 18 saves off 19 shots as her record moves to 6-2-2 on the year.
STATS AND NOTES
- Machado tallied her seventh goal of the season while Mya Vaslet picked up her 10th assist of the year.
- The Nittany Lions out-shot the Tigers 44-18.
- Penn State now leads the overall series 33-17-7.
