COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Penn State Men's Swimming and Diving Team began the Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio this evening with a pair of great swims including a school record and an NCAA B standard time.
The Men's 200 medley relay stole the show, finishing in second position with a school record breaking time of 1:22.93.
Sophomore Cooper Morley began the relay in the backstroke posting a time of 20.81. He was followed by sophomore Mariano Lazzerini in the breastroke with a time of 22.91. In the butterfly, sophomore Matthew Bittner swam a 20.34 and junior Victor Baganha finished with a 18.50 in the freestyle.
With that swim, the group took second place and posted an NCAA B Cut time.
In the 800 free relay. freshman Tylor Kim, sophomore Eduardo Cisternas, senior Lachlan Bryne and sophomore Mathew Bittner swam for a seventh place time touching in 6:24.79.
The Nittany Lions are back in action tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. when they continue with the prelims for the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and one-meter dive.
