UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's soccer defender Mohamed Cisset has received an international call-up for Mali's U-23 squad ahead of its upcoming international friendly against Japan.
Cisset played in all 18 games and started 14 for the Nittany Lions in his rookie campaign. Cisset was a part of a backline that had eight shutouts and held opponents to .79 goals per game.
The defender is the only player on the team coming from a U.S. university.
Mali's team includes Boubacar Traore, who currently plays for the Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League and Brahima Diarra, who is a midfielder for Huddersfield Town A.F.C.
The team will be led by manager Alou Badra Diallo.
The match will be played Friday, March 22 in Osaka.
