SERIES HISTORY
- This is the 28th meeting between Ohio State and Penn State.
- Penn State leads the series 20-7 with the last match-up coming on April 2, 2023 where the Nittany Lions defeated the Buckeyes 17-9.
SCOUTING OHIO STATE
- Ohio State enters Sunday with a 5-4 overall record. They are coming off an 9-5 loss to Denver that came on March 17.
- Leading the offense is Ed Shean who leads the team with 19 points off nine goals and 10 assists.
- In net, sits goalie Caleb Fyock who tallies a 4-4 record, GAA of 9.20 and save percentage of .536.
NON-CON DOMINATION
- Penn State finished non-conference play with a 6-1 record and are currently on a six-game win streak.
- The Nittany Lions captured victories over Villanova, Stony Brook, Navy, Yale, Cornell, and Marquette in their six-game stretch.
- The only loss came in the first game of the season against Colgate.
- In last year's season, the Nittany Lions finished regular season non-conference play with a 5-2 record which propelled them to their second final four run in 2023.
DEFENSE HOLDING THE LINE
- In the Nittany Lions seven games they've played this season they have held opponents to under 10 goals a game.
- Meanwhile they are forcing a minimum of four turnovers per game against opponents as well.
- Sophomore Alex Ross has been the leader of that defense as he leads the team in caused turnovers with seven.
THE BROTHERS COSTIN
- Brothers Mac and Will Costin have been having a great year on offense for Mac and on defense for Will.
- Mac currently has tallied 13 goals and two assists for 15 points this season in seven games played.
- He is just seven goals away from tying his career-high that he reached in 2022 with 20.
- Will is currently tied for second on the team in caused turnovers with six on the year. He has also scooped nine ground balls.
- He's already surpassed the amount of caused turnovers he had in his freshman season which was two.
MOVING UP
- Following Penn State's sixth straight victory of the year, the Nittany Lions moved to seven in the latest USILA poll announcement on Monday.
- The Nittany Lions moved up to five in the Inside Lacrosse media poll and stayed at four in the USA Lacrosse poll.
