Women's Hockey Lands Five 2023-24 Krampade/AHCA All-America Scholars

BOSTON - Five members of the Penn State women's ice hockey team were recognized as American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Krampade Division I All-American Scholars in the eighth year of the award's existence as announced earlier this week.

Graduates Julie Gough and Maggie MacEachern, rising junior Katie DeSa, rising sophomore Karolina Hengelmüller and rising graduate student Annie Spring, were the Nittany Lions honored with the academic award for the 2023-24 season.
Spring and Gough each earned their fourth All-American Scholar honors, MacEachern earned her third scholarly honor, while DeSa and Hengelmüller each earned their first honor.

These five student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding work in the classroom as the academic honor required recipients to have at least a 3.75 cumulative GPA for the 2023-24 school year and have appeared in 40 percent of their team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders. Schools also were required to be members of the AHCA.
