UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State track & field's Florence Caron was named a Second Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Tuesday.
Caron's unblemished 4.0 GPA in the classroom and smattering of accolades on the track earned her national recognition following the 2024 season. 2023-24 is Penn State's third consecutive year in which a member of its men's or women's cross country/track & field program earned a spot on a CSC Academic All-American team.
The La Malbaie, Quebec native completed her outdoor track & field season earning Second Team All-America honors in the 10K. Caron also earned First Team All-America recognition as a member of Penn State's indoor women's DMR team. In the fall, she collected Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors in cross country as the 11th-place finisher in the regional meet and helped her Penn State team qualify for the NCAA Championships. Her versatility through all three seasons of NCAA competition shows her importance to the Nittany Lion cross country/track & field program.
