Women's Hockey Clinches Three AHA Monthly Awards

Tessa Janecke, Lyndie Lobdell, and Grace Outwater each earned AHA monthly awards

BOSTON – The Penn State women’s ice hockey team clinched three Atlantic Hockey America Monthly Awards on Friday afternoon. Tessa Janecke, Lyndie Lobdell, and Grace Outwater each received a monthly award.

Janecke earns AHA Forward of the Month honors after she put up 14 points throughout September and October. She registered five goals and nine assists which included four multi-point games including a three-point effort in the Nittany Lions win over Stonehill on October 26. She led the AHA in assists, assists per game, points per game, points, and faceoff wins. This is her eighth AHA monthly award and fourth AHA Forward of the Month honor in her career. The Orangeville, Ill. native sits second all-time among the most amount of AHA monthly awards in their career behind Josie Bothun who has 12 throughout her time at Penn State.

Lobdell captures AHA Defensive Player of the Month following an eight-point showing throughout September and October. She tallied three multi-point games, which in included a three-point game against Stonehill on October 26. The Aurora, Ill. native tallied a +11 plus/minus rating while blocking 14 shots. Lobdell sat eighth in the AHA in points and eighth in points per game. She also led the league in plus/minus. This is Lobdell’s first career Defensive Player of the Month honor.

WHKY-OTM-ROOKIE

Outwater receives her first career AHA Rookie of the Month honor after leading all rookies in the league in points with 10 throughout the months of September and October. She tallied three multi-point games which included a five-point outing against Stonehill in which she recorded her first career hat-trick and the 16th in program history. She currently sits tied for third among rookies in the nation in points while also sitting second in the nation among rookies in assists. She sits third on the team in points and tied for first on the team in goals.
