UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State Women’s Tennis faces Villanova on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 12 p.m. and Old Dominion on Sunday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. to open the 2025 spring season in Happy Valley. It will be the sixth season with head coach Alexandra McIntyre at the helm.
Saturday’s match against Villanova features a free pizza promotion to all fans. Parking for fans will be $1 per hour at East Deck for both matches.
Fall Recap
The team is coming off a successful fall campaign highlighted by the doubles pair of juniors Olivia Dorner and Maiko Uchijima. The tandem, ranked No. 46 by ITA, won the ITA Northeast Regional doubles championship and competed at the NCAA Doubles Championship. They concluded the fall season at 10-2.
Dorner and Uchijima both earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors in the fall. Freshman Patricia Grigoras was named to the 2025 Big Ten Players to Watch list after 6-2 singles and 5-5 doubles records in the fall. She paired with sophomore Jordina Cegarra to reach the doubles quarterfinals at the ITA Northeast Regional.

Old Dominion
- The Monarchs open their spring season against Richmond on Friday, Jan. 17
- Old Dominion won the Sun Belt Conference Championship and reached the NCAA Second Round with an 18-6 record last spring
- Sofia Johnson, ranked No. 7 in the ITA singles rankings, reached the second round of the NCAA Singles Championships after a Round of 16 finish a season ago
