UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Penn State men’s tennis team is set to take on three opponents at home this weekend. Saturday, Feb. 15 will feature a doubleheader with Penn State facing Saint Francis at 9:30 a.m. and Drexel at 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, Feb. 16, the squad will close out the weekend against Georgetown at 1 p.m. All three matches will be held at the Indoor Tennis Center.
THE NITTANY LIONS
Coming off a three-win weekend against St. Bonaventure, Toledo and Mount St. Mary’s, the Blue and White continue their season with an impressive 8-1 record.
SCOUTING SAINT FRANCIS
The Red Flash started their season off 1-5, including a 7-0 loss to an earlier PSU opponent, Bucknell. Penn State currently holds a 3-0 historical record over Saint Francis, with the last matchup resulting in a 7-0 win by the Nittany Lions in 2023.
EYEING THE DRAGONS
Drexel enters Happy Valley with a 3-0 record, with their most recent win coming against Bucknell, 5-2. The last match up between the Nittany Lions and the Dragons was played in 2023, with Penn State sweeping 7-0.
LOOKING AHEAD TO GEORGETOWN
Coming off a two-win weekend, the Hoyas are currently 3-4 on the season. The Nittany Lions trail 16-13 historically, with the last meeting in 2024 resulting in a loss for Penn State.
UP NEXT
Following the weekend, the squad will begin their road stretch, starting off in New York, N.Y. to face Columbia on Saturday, March 2 at 2:30 p.m.
