Men’s Golf Completes Spring-Opening Gators Invitational

Morgan Lofland paces Penn State in Florida

Gators Invitational Final Results

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Penn State men’s golf team finished 10th in the 14-team field at the Gators Invitational as the spring-opening event wrapped up at Florida’s Mark Bostick Golf Course Sunday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions finished 10th after shooting a 24-over, 864, in the 54-hole event. Penn State started the weekend with an 8-over, 288, in the first round before firing its best round of the tournament in the second, a 3-over, 283. The Nittany Lions wrapped up play with a 13-over, 293, in Sunday’s third and final round.

Morgan Lofland led the Nittany Lions and finished tied for 26th at 4-over, 214. Lofland shot a 71-69-74.

Alex Creamean followed closely behind in a tie for 36th place at 6-over, 216 (71-70-75).

Will Preston (71-71-77) and Jake Griffin (75-73-71) both finished tied for 48th at 9-over, 219.

Andres Barraza rounded out the Nittany Lion lineup and finished 75th at 17-over, 227 (78-76-73).

The Nittany Lions return to action March 2-3 when Penn State travels to the Colleton River Collegiate in Bluffton, S.C.
