UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State baseball’s weekend series against Longwood has been adjusted due to snow on Longwood's field. The series, originally scheduled to begin on Friday, Feb. 21, will now start with a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 22 and conclude with one game on Sunday. The series will be played at VMI’s Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium.
Saturday’s doubleheader is set to begin at noon, while Sunday’s game will start at 1 p.m.
Due to the location change, the games will no longer be streamed on ESPN+.
The Nittany Lions, led by head coach Mike Gambino, are 2-1 after opening weekend wins over Missouri (10-0) and UConn (7-6).
Penn State’s win against Missouri was its first against an SEC team since 1995 vs. Alabama. PSU followed up with a victory on Sunday over UConn, a 2024 NCAA Super Regional team.
The Nittany Lions launched six homers, by six different players, on opening weekend. On the mound, the staff combined for 35 strikeouts in 27 innings. Mason Horwat fired five shutout innings in Friday’s start and Ryan DeSanto tossed four no-hit innings in Sunday’s start.
