Penn State Women’s Swim and Dive Kicks off Big Ten Championship

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women’s swimming and diving team completed day one of the Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday. The four-day meet opened with the 200 Medley Relay and the 800 Freestyle Relay. Penn State currently has 64 team points total after day one and stand at 11th place.

The Nittany Lions opened with Ellie Brandbergh, Audrey Cohen, Margaret Markvardt, and Maura Fluehr competing in the 200 Medley Relay team. The squad swam for a quick 1:39.38, good for 12th place and 30 team points.

After a short intermission, Catherine Meisner, Morgan Moore, Julia Barto, and Julia Meisner competed in the 800 Freestyle Relay, swimming a fast 7:12.09. The time was good for 10th place and 34 team points.

UP NEXT

The Nittany Lions are back in action tomorrow, February 20, with trials beginning at 10 a.m. and finals starting at 5:30 p.m. Events tomorrow include the 500 Freestyle, 200 IM, 50 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle Relay, and 1-Meter Diving.
