UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - No. 8 Penn State men's lacrosse is in search of back-to-back conference wins as it hosts no. 19 Johns Hopkins on Satruday, April 12. The Nittany Lions' fourth consecutive ranked matchup will serve as their 'Wear White' game as well as Alumni Day. The contest is slated for a 1 p.m. first faceoff and will be available to stream on B1G+.

HISTORY
- Johns Hopkins leads the all-time series 14-5, as meetings date back to 1916.
- The most recent two meetings have resulted in overtime periods. JHOP took the 2024 meeting 9-8 in OT and PSU won 12-11 in OT in 2023.
- In 2019, PSU set a single-game record for total goals scored in a Big Ten game with 20 against the Blue Jays, producing the largest margin of victory in a conference game with an 11-goal differential.
SCOUTING JOHNS HOPKINS
- Johns Hopkins is in search of its first conference win of the season after dropping to 0-3 in B1G action.
- JHOP began the season 4-0 and finished the out-of-conference portion of the schedule 5-2.
- Russell Melendez was named the first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week of the 2025 campaign and then again on Feb. 25. Logan Callahan earned Specialist of the Week on March 18 and Tyler Eye was named the Freshman of the Week on Feb. 11.
- Callahan is the conference leader in faceoff winning percentage (.628) and ground balls per game (8.36). His team ranks first in the conference and ninth in the country in winning percentage at the faceoff x.
- Both head coaches, Tambroni (2001-10) and Milliman (2018-20) were once head coaches at Cornell.
LAST TIME VS. JOHNS HOPKINS
- In the last meeting in April of 2024, Penn State led for most of the game until Hopkins completed a fourth quarter comeback to send the game to overtime.
- TJ Malone and Mac Costin had hat tricks in the outing and Matt Traynor put up two goals.

- Penn State completed an 11-8 comeback victory on the road at no. 13 Michigan to earn its first Big Ten win of the season.
- Matt Traynor’s 100th career goal guided the Nittany Lions in the crucial win as he totaled three goals.
- Reid Gills’ 8-9 faceoff wins in the second half, specifically in the fourth quarter during PSU’s 5-0 run, were key in maintaining offensive possession for Penn State.
- Liam Matthews and Jack Aimone each also had multi-goal games with two apiece.
- Jack Fracyon made massive saves between the pipes to total nine on the afternoon while only allowing eight goals.
- Kyle Lehman notched a personal best four ground balls, providing strong defense in the ride.
- Brendan Leary added a pole goal from beyond midfield while also causing two turnovers and scooping one ground ball.
- Kevin Parnham produced a big performance with three ground balls and one caused turnover.

- Matt Traynor sits at the top of the B1G in points per game (4.38) and is second in goals per game (2.75).
- Kevin Parnham ranks 17th across the nation in caused turnovers per game (1.8) which is second in the Big Ten.
- Colby Baldwin has the 15th-best face-off winning percentage (.589) in the country, leading his team to the 11th-best faceoff win percentage. He is 21st in ground balls per game (5.9).
- Traynor is second in the Big Ten in assists per game (1.8) and Hunter Aquino is third (1.6).
- As a team, PSU leads the conference in several categories including points per game (21.30), man-up offense (.438) and assists per game (8.30).
- The Nittany Lions have the second-best scoring margin in the B1G (3.5) and second-highest scoring offense (13.0).
B1G HONORS
- Jack Fracyon was named the Big Ten Specialist of the Week following a strong performance against Villanova. He tallied 10 saves on 15 shot attempts. He also allowed just five goals, the third lowest number of goals allowed in his career.
- Hunter Aquino earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week after his first career hat-trick and two assists to total five points against no. 8 Princeton.
- Hunter Aquino notched his second Big Ten weekly honor, being tabbed the Big Ten Freshman of the Week this week (3/4) after a seven-point (two goals, five assists) performance against Yale.
- Colby Balwin was named the Big Ten Specialist of the Week this week (3/4) following a dominant 17-of-26 performance at the face-off x against Yale while adding a goal and an assist.
- Aquino earned his fourth Big Ten Freshman of the Week nod (4/1) after posting two goals on two shots at no. 2 Maryland. He has garnered the most weekly awards of any player in the conference and is one award shy of matching the PSU program record for B1G Freshman of the Week nods set by Mac O’Keefe in 2017.
