UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State swimming and diving team will host the annual Senior Day meet presented by the Penn State Alumni Association this Saturday, October 18, against Yale. The meet is set for noon at McCoy Natatorium.
To watch the meet, fans are encouraged to park at the East deck.
The team will be celebrating their fifteen seniors in the class of 2025 and one graduate-level student. The ceremony will begin fifteen minutes before the meet begins at 11:45 a.m.
The Nittany Lions are coming off a strong opener to the 2025-26 season, with both the men’s and women’s teams defeating the St Bonaventure Bonnies in dominant fashion. The team looks to carry that momentum into their second matchup of the season against the Bulldogs.
The Penn State swimming and diving team will be honoring the following seniors:
Charlize Beniquez, Matthew Bittner, Erik Bolang, Delaney Burns, Andrew Christensen, Eduardo Cisternas, Hayden Elliott, Mariano Lazzerini, Margaret Markvardt, Ryan McNutt, Catherine Meisner, Julia Meisner, Morgan Moore, Cooper Morley, Mackenzie Pagett and Nya Robinson.
Performers to watch
Junior Tylor Kim led the Lions in the season opener, sweeping the 50 and 100-yard freestyle with times of 19.90 and 43.26. Senior Cooper Morley also won multiple individual events, claiming victory in the 100-yard back (46.42) and the 200-yard back (1:46.95).
Senior Eduardo Cisternas had a strong performance as well, dominating the 1000-yard free with a time of 9:15.79. Cisternas also won the 500-yard freestyle, posting a 4:24.83 time. Senior Mariano Lazzerini added wins in the 100-yard breast (52.54) and the 200-yard breast (1:56.39).
On the women’s side, seniors Catherine Meisner and Morgan Moore led the way, each claiming two individual victories.
Meisner won the 200-yard free (1:46.82) and the 100-yard free (50.29), while Moore claimed the 1000-yard freestyle (10:03.07) and 500-yard freestyle (4:57.09).
Sophomore Audrey Cohen and freshman Cyrah Robinson each had strong performances. Cohen won both the 100 and 200-yard breast, posting times of 1:03.27 and 2:26.80, respectively, while Robinson claimed an exciting 50-yard free victory with a personal-best time of 23.60.
The meet will follow a standard dual-meet format with 16 events in the following order:
- 400 Medley Relay
- 1,000 Freestyle
- 200 Freestyle
- 100 Back
- 100 Breast
- 200 Fly
- 50 Free
- 1-Meter Men, 3-Meter Women (Swim only 15-minute break)
- 100 Free
- 200 Back
- 200 Breast
- 500 Free
- 100 Fly
- 1-Meter Women, 3-Meter Men (Swim only 10-minute break)
- 400 IM
- 200 Free Relay
