MADISON, Wis. – The Penn State women’s cross country team came in seventh out of 30 teams at the Nuttycombe Invitational on Friday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions improved upon their finish at the same event last season when they came in 10th. Florence Caron led the way again for the Nittany Lions, finishing in 15th overall with a time of 20:07.3. Charlotte Costich came next with a time of 20:32.4, finishing 41st. Ada Rand came in third for Penn State, running a 20:33.1. Lea Hatcher (20:48.1, 61st) and Claire Daniels (21:02.4, 86th) rounded out the top five for Penn State.
The Nittany Lions finished ahead of 11 ranked teams while NC State (41 pts), Notre Dame (125 pts), and Iowa State (176) came in the top three spots.
