UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Nittany Lion field hockey player Sophia Mannino has been named to the 2025 All-Big Ten Field Hockey second team. Mannino was honored along with senior Madison Tambroni, who earned Penn State Field Hockey’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
Mannino, who battled injury throughout her career, played in 13 of Penn State’s 17 games this season, anchoring the Nittany Lion defense. She had one goal and an assist this year and ended her career with 14 points off five goals and four assists. Mannino played in 67 games during her Penn State career.
Tambroni played in 14 of Penn State’s 17 games this season. The State College native was also a key defender for the Nittany Lions this season and had one assist this year. Tambroni ends her collegiate career with six career assists in 51 games played.
Penn State ended its season at 7-10, 2-6 in the Big Ten.
