Penn State Completes Action At Men's NCAA Championships

Lazzerini competes in 100 breast, 200 breast; Nittany Lions compete in two relays

ATLANTA, Ga. - Penn State men's swimming's Mariano Lazzerini, Matthew Bittner, Tylor Kim and Cooper Morley completed competing at the 2026 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta.

On Wednesday, the squad of Matthew Bittner, Mariano Lazzerini, Cooper Morley and Tylor Kim competed in the 200 Medley Relay, finishing 19th with a time of 1:23.28. The 19th place finish in the 200 Medley Relay is PSU's best at the NCAA Championships since finishing 11th in 2014.

On Thursday, Lazzerini raced in the 100 Breaststroke. The senior recorded a time of 51.41 to place 12th overall. The 12th overall finish is the best in the 100 Breaststroke in school history at the NCAA Championships, bettering Lazzerini's 14th-place finish in 2024.

On Friday, Lazzerini competed in the 200 Breaststroke. The Chile native touched the wall in 1:52.48 to claim 19th. Lazzerini's 19th-place finish is the best in the 200 Breaststroke in program history at the NCAA Championships since at least 1990. 

Later on Friday, Morley, Lazzerini, Bittner and Kim combined in the 400 Medley Relay. The team placed 24th with a pace of 3:05.71.
