EUGENE, Ore - Rising sophomore Bryce Thompson of the Penn State track and field team delivered a pair of personal-best throws in the shot put at the USA Track & Field U20 Championships on Friday evening, placing fourth at Hayward Field.
Thompson eclipsed his previous PR of 18.81m with a mark of 19.42m on his second preliminary-round attempt to advance to the final. He then bettered that mark with a throw of 19.74m on his second attempt of the final round to secure a fourth-place finish.
