PERSONAL: Elise DeWan came to Penn State form Collegeville, Pa., and Methacton High School. DeWan started all four years at MHS, earning All-Area honors three straight seasons (and honorable mention as a freshman). She was a three-time all-conference pick and a two-time first team all-state selection (she also earned second team all-state honors). DeWan was team captain as a junior and senior. She helped guide to 57 wins in her four years as a starter with the team advancing to the state quarterfinals once. DeWan earned Pennsylvania Field Hockey Coaches Association state all-academic honors twice. As a defender, she tallied 15 goals and 21 assists for 51 points and collected 16 defensive saves. DeWan also played lacrosse for four years in high school. She is the daughter of Kelly and Mike DeWan. Mother Kelly was an All-American field hockey and lacrosse player at the University of Virginia in the early 1990s, earning NCAA titles in lacrosse for the Cavaliers. Father Mike played football at Penn State in 1995. She has three younger sisters, Lily, Lea and Emma.
