PERSONAL: Hannah Schreckengaust came to Penn State from San Marcos, Calif., where she was a four-year starter for San Marcos High School. Schreckengaust helped lead SMHS to the CIF Division II finals as a freshman and then earned the first of two straight team Most Valuable Player awards as a sophomore. She was first team All-League for three years and earned All-CIF First Team recognition as a senior and second team honors as a junior. Schreckengaust was a team captain twice and voted the team’s Best Offensive Player her senior year. She helped lead SMHS to two league titles and two University City Tournament championships as well. Schreckengaust earned Silver Honor Roll and California Scholarship Federation academic recognition all four years of high school and earned the AP Scholar Award once. She is considering a biotechnology major at Penn State. Schreckengaust is the daughter of Jennifer and Spencer Schreckengaust. Relatives Steven Schreckengaust and Virginia Jackson-Schreckengaust both played sports at Penn State. Steven played football from 1963-65 and Virginia played field hockey and lacrosse in the mid-60s as well. She has a younger sister, Kendra; and an older brother, Benjamin, who is a Penn Stater. Her father, Steven, graduated from Penn State as well.
