Awards: Earned a spot on the Academic All-Big Ten Team.

Season: Played in five games, including four as a starter, and missed nine due to injury...Finished with 11 ground balls and six caused turnovers...Had at least one ground ball in all five games he played and at least one caused turnover in four games.
 
Lafayette (2/5): Finished with two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Villanova (2/12): Picked up three ground balls and caused one turnover. Vermont (2/16): Totaled three ground balls and two caused turnovers. at Saint Joseph's (2/19): Picked up one ground ball. at Johns Hopkins (4/30): Contributed two ground balls and one caused turnover.

2021 • JUNIOR SEASON
Awards: Earned a spot on the Academic All-Big Ten Team.

Season: Started all nine games he played...Finished with 12 ground balls and four caused turnovers...Had at least one ground ball in seven games, including a season-high three in a win over Ohio State (3/6).
 
at Rutgers (2/20): Picked up one ground ball and caused one turnover. Maryland (2/26): Tallied two ground balls. Ohio State (3/6): Picked up a season-high three ground balls. at Johns Hopkins (3/13): Caused one turnover. at Michigan (3/20): Contributed one ground ball. Johns Hopkins (3/28): Totaled two ground balls. at Maryland (4/3): Finished with two ground balls. Rutgers (4/10): Picked up one ground ball. Johns Hopkins (5/1): Caused two turnovers in the quarterfinal round of the Big Ten Tournament.

2020 • SOPHOMORE SEASON
Awards: Earned a spot on the Academic All-Big Ten Team.

Season: Started all seven games…Finished with eight ground balls and three caused turnovers…The 2020 season was canceled March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Lafayette (2/1): Picked up one ground ball. Saint Joseph’s (2/15): Had one ground ball. Yale (2/22): Tallied two ground balls. at Penn (2/29): Contributed one ground ball and two caused turnovers. vs. Cornell (3/8): Picked up one ground ball. at Furman (3/10): Totaled two ground balls and one caused turnover.
 
2019 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Season: Played in five games…Finished with two ground balls.
 
Villanova (2/2): Made collegiate debut in a 17-7 win over the Wildcats. Johns Hopkins (4/21): Picked up one ground ball. at Rutgers (5/2): Picked up one ground ball.
 
PRIOR TO PENN STATE
Was a four-year member of the Shawnee High School lacrosse team...Named captain for two consecutive seasons…Missed the 2018 season due to injury…Helped guide his team to a 16-2 record in 2017, earning the conference title…Named first-team all-conference, All-South Jersey and second-team all-state as a junior…Won the South Jersey Group 3 title in 2015…Played five years of club ball with Big 4 HHH and US Indoor Lacrosse U-19 in Summer 2016…Named Maverick Showtime All-Star in 2015…Was a three-year letterwinner for Shawnee Soccer and earned two conference titles.

Parents are Kurt and Laurie Funk…Has a sister, Devon…Father played basketball at UMass…Grandmother attended Penn State and his sister is currently a student…Majoring in communication, arts and sciences.
