vs. Penn (2/25): Recorded her first collegiate at-bat in a 12-5 win over the Quakers.
2023 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Season: Appeared in two games over the course of her freshman campaign…Scored one run.
vs. FGCU (3/11): Entered the game as a pinch runner and scored her first collegiate run. vs. Canisius (3/18): Made an appearance as a reserve catcher in the Nittany Lion win.
HIGH SCHOOL
Played high school softball at Whitney High School in Rocklin, California... In her senior year, she was named a team captain... Picked up Second Team All-League honors and a Scholar-Athlete Award in her senior campaign... Hit three home runs in her senior year, recording 13 RBI with a .960 fielding percentage... Booked five years of travel softball experience... Played one year for Foothill Gold under Coach Miche in 2017... Played two years for West Coast Wolverines under Coach Bogelmann from 2018 to 2020... She played an additional two years for the West Coast Wolverines, elevating to the Gold squad under Coach Pearson from 2020 to 2022... In 2022, she batted .385 and finished the season with a perfect fielding percentage.
PERSONAL
Jillyan Jochims was born in the fall of 2004 in Rocklin, California, and is the daughter of Jon Jochims and Claudia and Anthony Chaus... She has one older brother, Joshua, and two younger brothers named Anthony and Louis... She has one older sister named Jaelyn, as well as an identical twin sister and PSU teammate, Jordyn Jochims... She is currently pursuing a degree in landscape architecture from the Penn State College of Art and Architecture and plans to graduate in the spring of 2026... Jochims hopes to start a career in landscape architecture upon graduation... In her free time, Jillyan enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and camping, and also enjoys artistic pursuits such as drawing and painting.
