Jeffery Earls joined the Penn State staff as an Assistant Director of Performance Enhancement in February of 2019. Prior to his arrival in Happy Valley, Earls designed and implemented training regiments as he served on strength and conditioning staffs at Texas Tech University, Tulane University, Purdue University, the University of Texas, Louisiana State University, and both the Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. He also trained athletes in the private sector at Elite Athletics Incorporated, Centers for Athletic Performance Elite, and the United States Southern Regional Olympic Training Center with the Gayle Hatch Weightlifting Team. Throughout his coaching career, Earls has aided in the overall mental and physical development of numerous Olympians and professional athletes in a variety of sports.
Earls graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education (Kinesiology-Fitness Studies Concentration) and later earned his Master of Science in Kinesiology (Coaching Education Emphasis) from Georgia Southern University. He has professional memberships and credentials from the American Heart Association (CPR/AED), Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC), National Academy of Sports Medicine (PES), National Association of Speed and Explosion (CSSE), USA Track and Field (Level 1 Track and Field Coach), USA Weightlifting (Level 1 Club Coach and Sports Performance Coach), and the National Sports Performance Association (CSAC, CWPC, CSNC, and CPDS).
Earls was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he attended Belaire High School. He is married to the former Jermonica Rogers and they are the proud parents of two sons named Jaxson Isaiah Earls and Jordan Daniel Earls. Earls and his family reside in State College, Pennsylvania.
