Fleury joined Penn State University in 2018 and currently serves as the Director of Applied Health & Performance Science where he manages the daily operations regarding performance monitoring, athlete testing, and sport science initiatives. Additionally, Fleury is responsible for the performance education program as well as all facets of internal research and development.
Prior to arriving in Happy Valley, Fleury spent two years at Indiana University where he was a football strength and conditioning coach and in charge of all areas of sports science. Fleury moved to IU from Baylor University, where he served as an assistant athletic performance coach and worked with football, track and field, baseball and softball.
Prior to Baylor, Fleury worked in the NFL as a part-time strength & conditioning coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also completed an internship at Jacksonville University working with athletes from all sport programs.
Fleury earned a bachelor of science in exercise science from the University of North Florida in 2014. During this time, he also interned at Jacksonville University, assisting primarily with football, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s basketball, and men’s soccer while completing his undergraduate degree. Fleury played football at Campbell University before enrolling at UNF.
Fleury holds a Master of Science degree in exercise science from California University of Pennsylvania ana Bachelor of Science in the same area of study from the University of North Florida. Fleury also holds a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the NSCA and a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) certification through NASM.
