2026 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Awards: Garnered a spot on the Big Ten Freshman Watch List in the preseason per Softball America.
Season: Appeared in 38 contests during her freshman campaign while making five starts in the Penn State middle infield… Contributed primarily as a pinch runner and defensive substitute while also seeing time at shortstop, second base and third base… Scored 15 runs and added three walks, three stolen bases and one RBI during her debut collegiate season… Logged 10 putouts and 16 assists defensively.
at Houston (2/13): Entered as a pinch runner and scored her first collegiate run. vs. Radford (3/6): Contributed her first collegiate RBI, scored a run and stole a base while appearing in the infield. at Oregon State (3/11): Made her first collegiate start at shortstop and drew a walk. at Oregon (3/15): Scored a run while making her fourth consecutive start in the middle infield. Wisconsin (3/21): Reached base via walk and scored a run in Big Ten action. Northwestern (4/11): Added another run scored while making a start at shortstop. Bucknell (4/14): Recorded her first collegiate hit, stole a base and contributed to another non-conference home victory.
HIGH SCHOOL
A highly decorated middle infield prospect from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Kalli Karwowski joined the 2024-25 Nittany Lion signing class as a multi-time All-State and All-Region honoree… Hailing from Peckville, Pennsylvania, Karwowski was one of the leaders of Valley View High School’s softball program, leading her squad to multiple Lackawanna League Division I Championships in addition to the 2024 District 4A title and 2025 PIAA State Championship, winning her first state title on her eventual collegiate field at Nittany Lion Softball Park and Beard Field… Karwowski garnered NFCA All-Region status following the 2024 campaign and paired that with All-State and All-Star accolades in each of the last four seasons. For her travel ball commitments, Karwowski spent two years under the tutelage of Rachel Coleman and Rob Crews with the Stars National 18U Coleman organization… She also boasted developmental experience with Stars National Coleman, as well as the Softball Factory over the course of her youth career.
PERSONAL
Born in the spring of 2007, Kalli Karwowski is the eldest daughter of Kristian and Barry Karwowski… She has one younger sister named Riley… She is the third member of her family to attend the Pennsylvania State University, joining cousins RJ and Rachel Kilmer… She is also the fourth member of her family to participate in collegiate athletics, joining family members Lauren and Robbie Nardelli who played varsity soccer and baseball, respectively, at Keyston College… While in high school at Valley View, Karwowski was a member of the National Honor Society and Math Honor Society, as well as the Leo Club, Bio Club, History Club and Spanish Club… Academically, she picked up Distinguished Honors and earned placements on the Honor Roll thanks to her work in the classroom… While a student-athlete at Penn State, Karwowski plans to study in the college of Health and Human Development, with the intention of one day becoming a physical therapist who runs her own business while continuing to give youth softball players lessons to stay involved with the game… In her free time, Karwowski enjoys weightlifting, giving softball lessons to youth players to help develop their skills, and also boasts a second-degree black belt in karate.
