Drexel (11/17): Posted 7-5 win over Kyle Waterman. Lehigh (12/8): Battled #1 Ryan Crookham tough in 4-2 loss at Lehigh. Wyoming (12/15): Dominated Stockton O’Brien in a 19-4 tech fall (5:27). Journeymen Collegiate (12/22): Went 3-0 with a major in Nashville, notched 1-0 win over #5 Nassir Bailey of Little Rock. Michigan State (1/10): Posted 20-5 tech fall over Andrew Hampton (5:25). Rutgers (1/24): Used second period rideout and 1:40 in riding time to down #9 Dylan Shawver. Ohio State: Took down #11 Nic Bouzakis 8-5 on the road. Illinois (2/16): Lost 7-1 to #4 Lucas Byrd.
Big Ten Championships (3/8-9): Went 4-2 at Big Tens, placing fourth as the four-seed. Beat #28 Angelo Rini of Indiana 10-5 and #4 Braxton Brown of Maryland 9-7.
NCAA Championships (3/20-22): Earned his first All-American honor with a 5-2 showing in Philadelphia. Majored #25 Kurt Phipps of Bucknell 12-4 and downed #9 Braxton Brown of Maryland before losing to top-seed Lucas Byrd of Illinois. Rebounded with wins over #11, #17 and a pin of #6 Connor McGonagle of Virginia Tech in his final bout to place fifth at 133.
2023-24 / TRUE FRESHMAN SEASON:
Season: Ranked as high as No. 1 nationally down a weight at 125 as a true freshman...Won Big Ten Championship as a true freshman...Went 2-2 at NCAAs, finishing a win shy of All-America laurels...Went 22-4 with five majors and five techs.
Journeymen (11/12): Went 3-0 in first collegiate action, including two technical falls and a major. Black Knight (11/19): Went 4-0 to win 125 title, including wins over #31 Tristan Lujan of Michigan State and #30 Ethan Berginc of Army West Point. Hofstra (12/10): Majored Dylan Acevedo-Switzer 11-2 in dual meet debut in Rec Hall. Oregon State (1/5): Dominated #15 Brandon Kaylor on his way to an 11-6 win in Corvallis. Indiana (1/14): Majored IU grad student Michael Spangler 16-3 in Big Ten dual debut. Michigan (1/19): Scored five unanswered points in the third period for 5-1 win over #5 Michael DeAugustino in Ann Arbor. Michigan State (1/21): Strong 7-3 win over Tristan Lujan in East Lansing. Maryland (1/28): Teched Tommy Capul 15-0 (2:47) in the first period. Ohio State (2/2): Posted 4-3 win over Vinny Kilkeary. Iowa (2/9): Lost hard-fought 4-2 battle to #7 Drake Ayala in Iowa City. Rutgers (2/12): Quick takedown in sudden victory for a 4-1 (sv) win over #19 Dean Peterson. Edinboro (2/25): Picked up 19-3 tech fall (4:02) over Caleb Edwards.
Big Ten Championship (3/9-10): Became Big Ten Champion as a true freshman, going 4-0 with a major; downed #5 Eric Barnett of Wisconsin, #16 Michael DeAugustino of Michigan and #4 Patrick McKee of Minnesota 8-1 in the finals.
NCAA Championships (3/21-23): Went 2-2 at first NCAA Championship as a true freshman. Only losses were last second 3-2 loss to eventual NCAA Champion #8 Richard Figueroa of Arizona State and 4-1 (SV) loss to #5 Jore Volk of Wyoming. Finished one win shy of All-America status.
