Hofstra (12/10): Majored Dylan Acevedo-Switzer 11-2 in dual meet debut in Rec Hall. Oregon State (1/5): Dominated #15 Brandon Kaylor on his way to an 11-6 win in Corvallis. Indiana (1/14): Majored IU grad student Michael Spangler 16-3 in Big Ten dual debut. Michigan (1/19): Scored five unanswered points in the third period for 5-1 win over #5 Michael DeAugustino in Ann Arbor. Michigan State (1/21): Strong 7-3 win over Tristan Lujan in East Lansing. Maryland (1/28): Teched Tommy Capul 15-0 (2:47) in the first period. Ohio State (2/2): Posted 4-3 win over Vinny Kilkeary. Iowa (2/9): Lost hard-fought 4-2 battle to #7 Drake Ayala in Iowa City. Rutgers (2/12): Quick takedown in sudden victory for a 4-1 (sv) win over #19 Dean Peterson. Edinboro (2/25): Picked up 19-3 tech fall (4:02) over Caleb Edwards.
Big Ten Championship (3/9-10): Became Big Ten Champion as a true freshman, going 4-0 with a major; downed #5 Eric Barnett of Wisconsin, #16 Michael DeAugustino of Michigan and #4 Patrick McKee of Minnesota 8-1 in the finals.
NCAA Championships (3/21-23): Went 2-2 at first NCAA Championship as a true freshman. Only losses were last second 3-2 loss to eventual NCAA Champion #8 Richard Figueroa of Arizona State and 4-1 (SV) loss to #5 Jore Volk of Wyoming. Finished one win shy of All-America status.
