NWCA Exhibition (11/16): Used dominant third period to post 7-0 win over #3 Cade DeVos of South Dakota State. Drexel (11/17): Rolled to a 16-0 tech fall (4:04) over Jack Janda. Black Knight Invitational (11/24): Shared title at 174 (not wrestling teammate in the finals), going 3-0 with two pins and a tech. Lehigh (12/8): Pinned Rylan Rogers at the 4:12 mark. Wyoming (12/15): Pinned Riley Davis in the first period (2:25). Journeymen Collegiate (12/22): Went 2-1 in Nashville with two tech falls, only loss thrilling 4-1 sudden victory defeat to #1 Keegan O’Toole of Missouri. Michigan State (1/10): Pinned Ceasar Garza (4:13). Nebraska (1/17): Defeated #15 Lenny Pinto in dual meet in Lincoln. Rutgers (1/24): Hard-fought 5-2 win over #22 Jackson Turley. Iowa (1/31): Strong 10-3 win over #6 Patrick Kennedy in BJC Dual win over the Hawkeyes. Michigan (2/7): First period pin of #29 Joseph Walker (2:37). Maryland (2/9): Notched 8-1 win over Branson John. Ohio State: Beat #5 Carson Kharchla 6-4 in Columbus. Illinois (2/16): Beat #23 Danny Braunagel 5-1. American (2/21): Pinned Breon Phifer (3:41).
Big Ten Championships (3/8-9): Became three-time Big Ten Champion by going 3-0 in Evanston. Pinned #26 Brody Bauman of Purdue (5:58), beat #10 Patrick Kennedy of Iowa 10-3 and majored #8 Lenny Pinto of Nebraska in the finals.
NCAA Championships (3/20-22): Became three-time All-American with a third place finish in his first season up two weights at 174. Two quick wins and then a victory over #7 Danny Wask in the quarterfinals before an upset loss in the semis. Rebounded with wins over #5 Simon Ruiz and an 11-3 major over #11 Patrick Kennedy of Iowa in the third place bout.
2023-24 / SOPHOMORE SEASON:
Season: Rolled through a perfect 23-0 campaign, winning second Big Ten title and earning his first NCAA National Championship in Kansas City...Posted 12-0 mark in dual meets, 8-0 in the Big Ten...Tallied five pins, five techs and five majors...CSC Second Team Academic All-American as well.
Journeymen (11/12): Went 3-0 at season opener, including tech and pin, also majored #27 Max Brignola of Lehigh. Lehigh (12/3): Beat #24 Brignola once again, this time a 12-6 win in Rec Hall. Hofstra (12/10): Pinned Dylan Zenion (1:02). Oregon State (1/5): Downed Isaiah Crosby 10-8 in Corvallis. Indiana (1/14): Rolled to 17-0 tech fall (6:06) over Zack Rotkvich. Michigan (1/19): Picked up a 2-1 win over #9 Will Lewan. Michigan State (1/21): Last second reversal in second tie-breaker to grab thrilling 7-6 (tb2) win over #21 Chase Saldate in East Lansing. Maryland (1/28): Rolled to 15-0 tech fall (5:58) over #33 Michael North. Ohio State (2/2): Majored #29 Isaac Walker 11-3. Iowa (2/9): Majored #5 Jared Franek in Iowa City 12-0, including 3:32 in riding time. Rutgers (2/12): Pinned Dylan Weaver in the first period (1:31). Nebraska (2/18): Rolled to 10-3 win over #7 Peyton Robb. Edinboro (2/25): Pinned Gannon Jaquay (4:38).
Big Ten Championship (3/9-10): Went 3-0 with a major to win second straight Big Ten Championship, downed #5 Jared Franek of Iowa 5-0 and #16 Will Lewan of Michigan in the finals.
NCAA Championships (3/21-23): Won NCAA Championship at 157 to cap off unblemished 23-0 season. Went 5-0 at tournament with a major, two techs and a pin. Top ten wins over #8 Peyton Robb of Nebraska (major) and #2 Jacori Teemer (5-0 in national finals).
2022-23 / FRESHMAN SEASON:
Season: Rolled to a 25-2 overall record as a true freshman...Went 11-0 in dual meets and 7-0 in Big Ten duals...Big Ten Champion at 157, named Big Ten Freshman of the Year...Became freshman All-American and NCAA National Runner-Up with second place finish...Five majors, one tech and three pins.
Bearcat Open (11/13): Posted 3-1 mark with two majors, placed fifth in Binghamton. Black Knight (11/20): Went 4-0, with three wins over ranked wrestlers, to claim title at 157. Downed #29 Troy Nation of Campbell, #28 Nate Lukez of AWP and teammate #31 Terrell Barraclough in the finals. Collegiate Duals (12/19-20): Made dual meet debut, pinning #31 Corbyn Munson of Central Michigan in the first period (1:38). Downed UNC’s Danny Nini 4-1. Posted 8-3 decision over Iowa State’s Jason Kraisser. Wisconsin (1/6): Made B1G dual debut with a strong 16-6 major over #16 Garrett Model in Madison. Michigan (1/20): Takedown early in extra time to beat #10 Will Lewan 3-1 (sv) in BJC Dual. Iowa (1/27): Key win in Penn State’s BJC dual victory over the Hawkeyes, used a third period takedown to beat #15 Cobe Siebrecht 3-2. Ohio State (2/3): Rolled to a 14-2 major with 4:10 in riding time over #25 Paddy Gallagher. Indiana (2/5): Beat Derek Gilcher 8-2. Rutgers (2/10): Posted 8-2 win over #33 Andrew Clark. Maryland (2/12): First period pin over Kevin Schork (1:42). Clarion (2/19): Picked up first career tech, 18-3 (4:26) over Trevor Elfvin in dual finale.
Big Ten Championships (3/4-5): Won Big Ten title as a true freshman, going 3-0 in Ann Arbor. Beat #24 Derek Gilcher of Indiana 6-0 and #6 Kendall Coleman of Purdue to advance to finals. Took down #1 Peyton Robb of Nebraska in sudden victory to clinch the title, winning 3-1 (sv).
NCAA Championships (3/16-18): Became an NCAA finalist as a true freshman, earning All-America honors with a 4-1 run to the title bout in his first trip to nationals. Claimed wins over the #31 and #15 ranked wrestlers and then pinned #7 Bryce Andonian of Virginia Tech in the quarterfinals. Beat #2 Peyton Robb of Nebraska 5-3 in the semis before losing to #1 Austin O’Connor of North Carolina in the national finals.
