2024-25/ SOPHOMORE SEASON:
Season: Earned second All-America medal with another third place finish at nationals, this time up a weight at 157. Went 23-2 overall and 11-1 in dual meets. Won 2025 Big Ten Championship at 157, earning first team All-Big Ten honors.
NWCA All-Star Exhibition (11/16): Posted 4-2 win over #3 Peyten Keller of Ohio. Black Knight Invitational (11/24): Won Black Knight crown with 3-0 mark, including win over teammate in finals, and had two techs and a major. Lehigh (12/8): Hard fought 5-2 win over Logan Rozynski. Wyoming (12/15): Dominated #19 Jared Hill in 16-3 major.
Journeymen Collegiate (12/22): Went 3-0 in Nashville with a fall and a major, including 4-2 win over #20 Matty Bianchi of Little Rock. Michigan State (1/10): Pinned Braden Stauffenberg (3:46). Nebraska (1/17): Used a takedown and four nearfall points to down #5 Antrell Taylor in Lincoln. Rutgers (1/24): Posted 4-0 win over #31 Connor Harer. Iowa (1/31): Used second period takedown and 2:04 in riding time to down #1 Jacori Teemer in front of sold out BJC Dual crowd. Michigan (2/7): Downed Zack Mattin 7-2. Maryland (2/9): Was beating #6 Ethen Miller in second period when he took a third hand to the face, went into concussion protocol and could not continue, dropping the injury default bout at 4:27. American (2/21): Pinned Devon Capato (2:19).
Big Ten Championships (3/8-9): Became Big Ten Champion with 3-0 run at Northwestern. Beat #9 Trevor Chumbley of Northwestern 7-3, pinned #4 Antrell Taylor of Nebraska (1:17) and majored #11 Brandon Cannon of Ohio State 12-2 in the title bout.
NCAA Championships (3/20-22): Placed third at the NCAA Championships for the second straight season, going 6-1 in Philadelphia and becoming a two-time All-American. Opened with a pin and a decision before an upset loss in the quarterfinals. Rebounded with four straight wins, including a pin, a major and a strong win over #2 Meyer Shapiro of Cornell.
2023-24 / TRUE FRESHMAN SEASON:
Season: Earned the starting spot at 149 after All-American Shayne Van Ness was sidelined with an injury in November...Rolled to a 24-5 overall mark...All-American as a true freshman, rolling off eight straight wins after an opening round loss to claim third place at 149 in Kansas City...Had five pins, one tech and seven majors...Went 6-2 in dual meets.
Black Knight (11/19): Went 3-1, including two majors, to reach finals at 141, only loss close 4-1 dec. to teammate #2 Beau Bartlett in finals. Lehigh (12/3): Made Penn State dual debut up at 149 and posted 7-4 win over Drew Munch in Rec Hall. Oregon State (1/5): Controlled #12 Nash Singleton for road dual meet win, using third period takedown for 4-1 victory. Indiana (1/14): Last second escape secured 15-0 tech fall (6:59) over #14 Graham Rooks in B1G dual debut. Mat-Town 2 (1/28): Went 4-0 with a pin and a major to take first. Ohio State (2/2): Rolled to 7-2 win over #9 Dylan D’Emilio in Rec Hall. Iowa (2/9): Lost tough 11-8 (sv) bout to #12 Caleb Rathjen on the road. Rutgers (2/12): Notched 7-5 win over #26 Michael Cetta. Nebraska (2/18): Close 7-3 loss to #1 Ridge Lovett. Edinboro (2/25): Pinned Colin Roberts (3:20).
Big Ten Championship (3/9-10): Went 4-1 with two pins to take third, beat #10 Dylan D’Emilio of Ohio State 3-2, #8 Caleb Rathjen of Iowa 8-1, and pinned #12 Ethan Miller of Maryland in third place bout (2:36).
NCAA Championships (3/21-23): Became only ninth wrestler in NCAA history to lose opening round match and come back to win seven straight and finish third. Earned All-America honors as a true freshman. Had two pins and four majors. Top ten wins over #9 Ethan Fernandez of Cornell (pin), #3 Jackson Ranger of NC State in the blood round, #1 Ridge Lovett of Nebraska (major) and #5 Ty Watters of West Virginia in third place bout.

Freshman Tyler Kasak comes to Happy Valley from Doylestown, Pa., and Bethlehem Catholic High School...He brings multiple state medals, including a Pennsylvania state title, with him from BCHS...Won numerous prestigious national titles, including Ironman, Beast of the East and Escape the Rock championships...Was world Silver Medalist and the U.S. Open Champion...Son of Janeice and Joel Kasak...Has two siblings, brother Nate and sister Angelina...Considering an agriculture major.
